Please share your comments about your experience : This was the worst workamping experience I have ever had in my 10 years as a workamper. The more you gave, the more they expected. It’s a beautiful setting. Private beach on the San Juan de Fuco just outside of Port Angeles. The only problem is that Management is vigilant about watching through binoculars at every person & dog on the property & chasing after them if they weren’t wearing a wristband issued by the office. We were expected to keep a sharp eye out for anyone on the beach that didn’t pay. This wouldn’t be a problem except that The manager would spin out on a tirade if anyone, children included walked on that beach. She would chase them off screaming and threatening to call the Sheriff. I believe there’s a solution to every problem & they don’t seem to want to come up with a way to keep the beach private without angrily chasing people off it. If you have someone visit you, they must register at the office and pay $8.00 per person & per dog. Even if it’s only for a few hours. I urge you to read the reviews on Yelp before taking a job here.

Job Title: Campground Hosts 2015-16 Winter

Did you receive Wages or Stipend ?: Yes

Please share your comments about your experience : We worked all winter at Crescent Beach & RV Park and really enjoyed the experience. The owners/managers are very cordial, helpful, and wonderful people. The responsibilities are not as many as during the summer months; however, you still stay busy. You patrol the beach twice a day, a private sandy beach, and the only sandy beach for 100 miles! LOTS of wildlife, deer, Bald Eagles, whales, and numerous birds. Duties primarily are work as needed from sun-up to sun-down three days on and three days are OFF. Duties: clean restrooms, shower rooms, pickup trash, mow grass, run small store, record reservations, collect fees, etc. Very typical for Campground Host jobs.

Did you receive any special benefits or perks while workamping? : No special benefits or perks.
