I drove 600 miles for a bartender/waiter full time job and just to find out when I got there, there was never such an opening. He wanted me to work in the kitchen.
I have been a professional bartender/waiter for 25 years , so I was well qualified.
BEWARE! This in an old trick in the book for desperate resort owners trying to get employees. Do your homework.
