Please share your comments about your experience : Responsible for the cleanliness of 18 deluxe cabins, 22 rustic cabins, 2 bath houses, 1 laundry room and the processing of laundry for all. Training: watch DVD produced by KOA corporate on cleaning procedures This is a corporate owned KOA not a franchise. Compensation is minimum wage ($10 hr in 2016) for all hours worked. Lot rent $150 month includes water, sewer, 50 amp electric, wifi, basic cable TV. Pay is every two weeks and lot rent is deducted from pay, direct deposit is available. Each morning we received a listing which showed which cabins were checking out that day and which were turnarounds or “hot” cabins which were checkins the same day. This listing included both deluxe and rustic cabins. Check out time is 11 am. “Hot cabins” had to be stripped and cleaned prior to 3 pm check in time and almost always guests arrive before check in time. We basically worked independently with minimal supervision from management. We knew what work needed to be completed each day. If we completed our work prior to the end of our work day we were allowed to leave for the day. The biggest challenge we found was adjusting to each other’s different working styles, no two people work the same way. We worked between 32-40 hours a week, including weekends and we had two consecutive days off during the week. We had a 30 minute lunch break and (2)-15 minute breaks during the day. We rarely took the 15 minute breaks. Housekeeping is a very physical job and we were tired at the end of each work day. It took approximately 6 weeks to “harden” our bodies physically to this position. If you can work independently and are a self starter and do not need interaction from management this is the position for you. This was our first workamping experience and yes we would return to this KOA again, it was overall a positive experience for us.
