Please share your comments about your experience : Black Canyon Ranch RV Resort, Black Canyon City Included monthly site rent, Electric not included NOT a good park to work at. The current managers, Christine (office) and Ray (maintenance) are horrible. It would help if they cared about the park, but they don't, they only want a paycheck. Constant lying. They never patrol the park so see what's needed. They never make you feel at home, there are threats of being fired way too often. If you do something "wrong" or you disagree with her, you will be on her bad side, then look out, she will set you up for failure. They go to and from the office and have no clue on what needs to be done because they rely on a 3rd set of eyes (cleaning lady) to report things she "sees". Which are not followed up on, the manager just reacts to whatever is told to her. Cleaning lady is part of the problem. She and the office manager like to stir stuff up and so much gossip! The office manager made it clear from day 1 that she does not want to be bothered outside of her regularly scheduled hours, including weekends. That makes it fun when you're on call, because you will carry the cell phone off hours on your 3.5 days. She also makes it clear that all daily work needed (including maintenance) will be given by her. Both managers have no idea how to prioritize daily maintenance work, and most times have no clue what to tell you to do or just don't contact you. They got lucky that my husband likes to work and was able to figure it out on his own. Bring your own tools because "the shop" that is so highly talked about is a joke. The office training is inconsistent, it's almost learn as the situation comes up, and if you do it wrong, look out. Remember the lecture got from an adult when you where 12? That's what you'll get from the office manager. She blames mistakes on the camp workers so CYA. Office manager is always "so busy" but be prepared to be bored because she won't give you much to do, but if she does its easy. There are so many rules, written and unwritten. If she likes someone then that rule is void, if she dislikes somone then that rule is enforced 120%. They both dislike so many annuals and snowbirds, they had me scared for the winter season. So many stories at how the people coming in were rude and demanding. Winter season came and was shocked at how nice the snowbirds were!! The office manager has ZERO customer service skills. She has turned down so many monthly guests because she didn't like their answer on why they have no plan traveling in their RV. She has made me want to crawl under a desk listening to the way she treats people. Any bad review you see out there, is 100% true. This park is owned by a company who has other properties and unfortunately, they do not care to hear about bad management, it's clear they only care about the money coming in . They call her on her bad google reviews and she always has a reason as to why she had to be so rude to someone. We were told we were the best (and longest) camp workers they've had, but never make you feel appreciated. They won't listen to any suggestions on improvements, always have a reason as to why it won't work. Then your on her bad side for coming up with too many ideas! We were there 11 months and I'm so glad we left this place. We were to the point where we spent way to much time talking off hours about how bad management is. Not worth the free rent/laundry. There were 4 other sets of workers that came thru while we were there. Prior to us, we were told there were at least 15 couples. This park has really nice annuals and snowbirds. Even the guests that came thru, always were really great people. If management would be better, this park could be so much more!! Our secret to lasting was to keep our mouths shut, don't involve management unless absolutely necessary, do opposite of the managers (aka be nice), don't let cleaning lady tell you what to do, do your own thing as long as your following all her rules.................but don't get too comfortable, that only lasts so long.
Did you receive any special benefits or perks while workamping? : No way. In fact office manager tried telling us our site was worth $900/month because we had water, high speed internet and got to use the amenities that other paid guests use. But then we questioned her that other guests don't pay that. Of course she had some reason that didn't make sense.
